Hello
Marti, Ken, Bill, Craig et al...... First, let me simply say a big thanks for the fun party last Sunday. You folks were outstanding, and everyone has called/e-mailed us about how much fun they had, and how much they loved the danceable band!! And, needless to say, the birhday boy, Riely, had an absolute ball! Thanks for making our party such a fun time..we'll do it again one of these days. Also, we're looking forward to having y'all play at the Arts Round-Up next Satrurday, 10/20......we'll see you then.... Dick Francis |

The group was more
than fantastic yesterday. I met a few more new friends, Tony and
Carol, Ken (a friend of Craig"s) and they are wonderful people.
I mentioned to Tony and Carol to sit at the table every month and they
said yes. Tony is a great singer; in a way the first song was like
Tony Bennett and the second song I'm not sure either way he was great.
In fact all the performers were great.
It was a wonderful
afternoon, relaxing and just enjoying everybody. The best was the
Sunset Valley Boys as always. Keep up the excellent work.
I won't know until
after the 16th this month if I will be there that first Sat in Nov.
I worry as I promised Tony and Carol I am always there and I get that
table. I will be having shoulder and rotor (sp) cup surgery on the
left side. I have been putting it off yet I see the surgeon
the 16th and set a date. There is a slim possibility the surgery
date could be in Nov. Just don't know.
Keep up the
excellent work guys and Marti and Penny too with the pictures.
Love, Mary |

Dropping you all a
line to tell you thanks for letting me play along - I'm having a great
time - of course, it's really nice to have a good time - but right now
that means a whole bunch to me! I'm having a health crisis of sorts -
more on that when I know more to say - I will know in the next couple of
weeks. Lately, more than ever, I've learned to let people know that I
appreciate them and their friendship - I'm grateful to call ya'll
mine! It's been great getting to know you all. Thanks again!
Who knows - maybe I'll live out another dream and sing a song with the great Sunset Valley Boys!

WOW!! You guys
were fantastic today. Now, Ken, since you are practicing the
violin you can learn "Alabama song - Mountain Home Music (not
sure know what the song is) where the fiddler plays real fast".
You were great with the violin (fiddle) and will be even better.
Thank you for the performances today.
Seeing all of you up there having so much fun and enjoying what you are doing makes all of us watching even more enjoyable. As usual Marti, you did a fantastic job today. It was great seeing all of you once again. Love, Mary |

I was so tired when I
arrived at the Evangeline Cafe this afternoon that I wasn't sure which
direction I was going in. Once meeting with some friends and the
music started I perked up. I look forward to the first Sat of each
month and I thank you for the excellent entertainment.

usual you guys plus Marti going around taking pictures out did yourselves.
Your show today was a great picker up for me and I appreciate all of you
more than you think. It was great meeting your mother Ken plus your
daughter and her husband. Have a fantastic day tomorrow Ken. Now, I
will not be there the first Sat of Aug. So, just think of me sitting there
and cheering all of you there. I love all of you and see you
the first Sat in Sept. |

I haven't been feeling
well the last couple weeks. However, one part of healing the body is
listening to The Sunset Valley Boys. They make you feel better and today
was fantastic. I thank all of you. I didn't see Penny so give her my love,
and Marti, as usual you are doing a great job moving all over the place. I will see you all soon. Love, Mary |

I forgot
something....Marcia informed me we better start sitting at a smaller table
if it is only going to be the two of us. I said "No way. Other
people can join us at our table if the waitresses from Jim choose not to
show up. The chairs are there and just make yourself feel at home. I need
to focus on the band and that does not mean at the back of the
room." Great show again guys! Love, Mary |

I just wanted to
let you know that I had a great time at the Oaks singing along with the
Sunset Valley Boys. Being from South Dakota I don't make it to Texas very
often and it was my first time in Austin. I had heard of all of the great
live music in Austin, which is one of the reasons I wanted to visit. The
Sunset Valley Boys were the only band that I was able to see, but if you
are representative of the music in Austin then I may have to relocate.
I will continue to check your website to see where you are playing. I will bring my banjo the next time. Please let me know of any special events. Thank you for making my trip to Austin a great memory. Glen |

gigs as well. |

Dear
Sunset Valley Boys,
The band gets better and better each month. Ken, you did a great turn around on the one song. Believe or not Alan Jackson made almost the same mistake several years ago on the Acad. Music Awards. Bill sang a great song; he been practicing at Jim's this past week, he needs to learn another song or two. I can't thank all of you enough for the beautiful music and friends. One last thing, Bill has this new vehicle which looks like a box and much smaller than his white van - be careful as it may take him a while to learn how to drive a box. Don't forget to let Sam sing and play next month. Love, Mary |

Dear
Sunset Valley Boys,
I gave Mary my note to write in. Again, after a hard days', it is so relaxing, enjoyable and fun to listen to good music. I'm at work by 6 am and get off if I am lucky 3 pm. Mary starts nagging me the beginning of the week you guys are playing. She also nags the other ladies; both of us told them they are missing out on excellent county music. I want to thank all of you and Marti for the hard work all of you do. I'm like Mary I look forward to the first Sat each month. Marcia |

WOW!!! What a fantastic show!! You have no idea how many guests the group will have there and that is the best part. Whoever shows up and plays are great. There was a young man named Sam. This young man has a great future in the music world. Each month is different and for those who do not show up, you are missing some great musicians. Of course the best group of musicians are The Sunset Valley Boys and such a fantastic performance they give. Ken, you did a great job of saying your name and the way you did it; thank you. Need to give a lot of thanks to Marti as she is all around the place taking pictures of everybody. The two young boys who came in late call me Grandma Mary (which I love and they are Marcia's grandsons). They said they thought they liked this kind of music. They have to come couple more times to be sure. . |

Ken and the guys:
Thank you for playing "Pop a Top Again" with the wonderful sound
effect. I have been waiting a long time for you guys to play it. I enjoy
all the special guests that shows up and plays; especially the young man
named Sam. He is really good. Thank you for giving us a great time on the
first Sat. of each month.
Happy Easter, Marcia |

I want
to thank all of you for the wonderful music. It is a shame on the mix up
on time, place and etc. I know there would have been standing room
only.
I want to thank all of you not only for me but the other people who come to listen. It is so relaxing, fun and just having a great time. Love, Mary |

I rush around at work
(Jim's restaurant) to get off on time so I can sit back, relax and listen
to great music. All the stress is taken away for the several hours you
play for all the people who come to see you. Mary knows how much I enjoy
meeting her there to listen to you guys.
Thanks to her she helped my children work out their schedules as there is only one vehicle and there were too many places to go. She is worse than a SGT yet as usual everything was worked out. I won't let her read this as I am at her home writing this. I am looking forward to seeing all of you in two weeks. *Mary just yelled at me to remind all of you a week from tonight set your clocks forward one hour. I hear this from her once a day at work this past week. Thank you again for being there for the people. |

First I owe Ken
an apology for saying Kenneth when I stood up to mention his name, I am
sorry Ken.
Have you thought about saying my name is Ken before you start saying the names of the other members? A lot of groups/ individuals do this. Just a thought. As usual today was excellent. The new songs were fanastic and as always what a wonderful performance. |

I
can say that I was there from the beginning. Maybe not all the same
members, but Bud is looking down and bossing, and JR is playing the
spoons. Times have changed, but the spirit and the fun are still
there. Thanks for the joy you spread.

I
just came back from another fantastic Sat. afternoon listening to this
great group.
Now, when I opened my garage door I had to see which way my 3 legged dog was standing I sure wasn't going to be pee on. I was lucky again; yet how many dogs have steps to get up the bed, has his own pillow (as well as my other dog) has covers and etc. He better be standing away from me, ha. It will be 10 years Feb. 25 I lost my husband, Duane. We had the privilege of seeing every great country group and individuals in the business from the mid 70's to the early 90's. If Duane was alive today, he would be sitting at the table beside me the first Sat. every month. He would also say this is the best music group in the business and some how a music company should have signed them up years ago. Country music is what brought Duane and me together and it was our first love; besides ourselves. I know he is watching from above and clapping just as hard as I am. I want to thank all of you for the beautiful gift you gave me today. I put it in a special place, next to the flag the Army gave me when Duane died. I am the lucky one to have great friends who are very special to me. I thank all of you. Today, was standing room only. Someone needs to tell Curtis, build on someplace. If someone would tell Curtis for me, thank you for being sure our group is taken care of. I made sure that first Sat in Jan I was there after having surgery less than a week. The reason why; a good healing listening to all of you. It has helped more than you realize. Ken, a good job on singing for the first time on Pop A Top Again by Alan Jackson. Cowboy and the group was great playing the gospel song today. A suggestion, one gospel song at least each time you play. OK people, a lot of you who was present today, send in a comment to this web site. All would like to hear what you have to say. Again, thank you for the special gift, Love Mary |

I
forgot one major comment. Guys in the band; Ken mentions each one of your
names throughout the show and at the end. If one of you don't stand
up and mention his name - as he never does; then I will have to stand up
and yell "This is Ken". Get on the ball guys.
Love, Mary |

Fantastic!
I work at Jim's Restaurtant and make most 1st Sat. each month. It is so relaxing and calming listening to this group after working a 9 hour shift on Sat. Each month is better and better. Thank you guys for making this possible to listen to great country music, you are the best. |

For
those who did not attend today's performance; you missed a fantastic show.
What I like about this group you never know what will happen. So many
extra performers; who were outstanding. In other words missing just one
performance you miss out not only on listening to one of the best artists
in the business, but also you never know what guest will be there. Now,
before I leave my home the first Sat. of each month I explain to my two
dogs I may not be home in time for their supper, they do listen. My three
legged Lab if he is unhappy with you, since he doesn't have to lift a leg
to pee, you better be standing on the good side of him or you get soaked.
Just hope you have a good sense of humor yet this is true. Tonight he just
ran to the door so I didn't have to worry where to stand. See I told you
they listen to me about the first Sat of each month or he would have been
at the door waiting for you.
Now, there are more and more people showing up. I can just see this Spring/Summer the doors will have to be opened so people can sit out on the patio to listen to this fantastic group. Thank you Sunset Valley Boys and Marti (who goes around taking all the beautiful pictures), for taking the time to perform for all of us on the first Sat. of each month. We are the privilege ones. have a great month; Happy Thanksgiving to all. |
